On #LivestreamStars with Ross Brand, singer, actor and recording artist Azania Noah talked about how musicians can use livestreaming, her experiences performing around the world, including at The Apollo in New York City, and the influence Whitney Houston had on her decision to sing.

We also discussed her amazing performance on The Voice and her album, Rising. And we got to hear Azania sing for us as well.

Azania Noah is an award-winning, multi-cultural artist with a captivating voice, powerful energy and positive charisma. A phenomenal performer & a joy to see on stage, she has performed over 800 concerts around the world, including for 4 Presidents and at prestigious venues (Blue Note & Apollo in NYC) and music festivals (Montreux Jazz Fesitival in Europe).

In Paris, Azania won first prize in the French T.V. competition ‘Graines de Star’ on M6TV. Broadcast to millions of viewers, it was the first French show similar to ‘American Idol’. She covered Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” during the competition. She also recently featured on the famous TV show “The Voice” in France (TF1 TV) seen by over 8 million viewers internationally.

During her 12+ years of classical opera voice training, she performed in many different bands of not only soul and funk, but various styles from jazz to disco, electro/house to gospel, reggae to musical theater. She explores 70s soul and funk combined with other musical styles in her latest album, “Rising.”

Azania is also a talented actress who notably performed in a short film “Grace” playing a Kenyan immigrant who suffered domestic violence. An avid philanthropist, she is goodwill ambassador to the All As One Children’s Center and orphanage based in her home country of Sierra Leone.
